If you've been following me on social media at all over the last decade, you've seen me post this hashtag literally on everything! I wear it on a t-shirt, I say it every chance that I get, & it doesn't hurt that it is catchy AF! But what exactly does Awesome is a lifestyle mean?
Awesome can be defined as something that is extremely impressive, which fosters emotions of either admiration, apprehension or fear.
But that definition is just way too long to have explain that on a daily basis. So I have chosen to define Awesome as showing up as the most excellent version of yourself.
To say that Awesome is a Lifestyle means that you choose to live life each day in your excellence.
To live each day to the best of your ability.
To live life in spite of the opinions others have (F*** everyone else's opinions!)
Awesome is a Lifestyle means you wake up every day, choosing to be your best self, & push further to make your best better!
For me it's about choosing to live your dreams in the present moment, not just hoping that something may possibly happen.
The annoying thing for me about "Follow your dreams" quotes is that they make the dream out to be like money dangling from a fishing rod. So close, yet somehow always out of reach! You follow it and chase it, & maybe one day you'll have it... maybe you won't. But if you LIVE your dreams, you embody what it means to become that thing. It's not about reaching for something, it's about becoming. I saw myself performing on stage since I was 10, I got on stage for first time at 19 years old, and I've been living that dream for almost 13 years. DONT FOLLOW YOUR DREAM.... LIVE YOUR DREAM, IF YOU WANT TO BE SOMETHING, BE IT! MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Show up as your most excellent self every day!
By embracing this philosophy, I've learned to navigate the ups and downs of the comedy world with a sense of humor and optimism. It's not always easy, but maintaining that "awesome" mindset has helped me persevere and keep pushing forward.
