Believe your own hype.
Have you ever been told not to believe your own hype? I used to hear that a lot. But let me tell you something—I've learned that embracing your own hype is a powerful act of self-recognition.
You see, your hype isn't just empty praise. It's the culmination of your hard work, dedication, and unwavering belief in yourself. It's the manifestation of the vision everyone else lacked and the dreams they dismissed as silly or stupid.
I'll be honest with you. For a long time, I struggled with self-doubt and anxiety. People would hype me up, and I'd brush it off as mere generosity. But then something clicked. I realized that my hype is real—it's earned, not given.
My journey has been filled with milestones that shaped my comedic voice and connected me with incredible audiences. From my one-man show "Anomaly" at the Solocom festival to co-producing over 100 shows with Comedy-ish Productions, I've been fortunate to share my humor and make people laugh.
And let's not forget about "Special Delivery"—a show that sold out venues like The Creek & The Cave and Dangerfield's Comedy Club. Even during the pandemic, I took my comedy online and reached audiences in 13 states and 3 countries via Zoom.
Reading my own resume and reflecting on my journey has transformed my confidence and self-talk. It's a reminder that I am every bit as talented as they say I am—and as I say I am.
So, here's my message to you: believe in your own hype. Celebrate your achievements, acknowledge your progress, and use that positive energy to fuel even greater things. Because guess what? God isn't done with you yet.
Let's continue betting on ourselves, believing in our dreams, and making the impossible possible. Join me on this journey of self-discovery and confidence—let's embrace our own hype and inspire others along the way.
